Stone Masonry

Stone features such as bird baths, sculptures, steps and windows are hand crafted to measure from a range of different types of stone. Stone can be crafted for new builds or extensions or to replace existing stone which is worn or damaged.

Stone Repairs

Saxum Stonemasons specialise in repairing damaged or eroded stone and brickwork. In some cases the stone may be removed and replaced matching the original fabric of the building as closely as possible. For other cases it may be possible to rebuild or repair using the original stone or brickwork. Examples of our work include churches, houses, flint walls and brick walls. We also repair garden features such as fountains, pergolas and sculptures.

Conservation

Our team are passionate about conserving as much of the original fabric of the building as possible. We can repair damaged stone using specialist lime mortar and natural earth pigments. Where the damage to the stone is more substantial we are able to carefully cut out and replace old stone with a suitable alternative. The original lime mortar is carefully matched to ensure that all repairs are complementary to the original architecture. Where possible the original mortar can be incorporated into the mix.
