Saxum Stonemasons is a family run business and can provide expert advice on how to care for and maintain old buildings, garden features, antique stone, granite and marble worktops and sculptures.

Our expert craftsman work to high standards throughout and offer a guarantee with all of our work whilst providing detailed explanations on the work in progress and any aftercare required.

With expert training in geology, lime mortar and stonemasonry techniques we can select the most suitable materials and working methods to meet your individual requirements. All of our work is hand crafted with a high attention to detail taking traditional methods and materials into consideration.

Lime Mortar Pointing and Repair

Saxum Stonemasons are able to remove old cement repairs and pointing and replace them with the breathable lime mortar with which stone buildings were traditionally built.

Masonry Work and Restoration

Measuring, templating and cutting of new stone along with repairs to old masonry. This includes church restoration, listed building repairs and stone work for new builds.

Paving and Patios

Projects can be made to your own design; we are more than happy to discuss any ideas you might have and produce scale drawings for your consideration.

Letter cutting

Our highly skilled letter cutter can create a unique design to meet your interest or requirements. Our letters are carved by hand using traditional stone carving techniques. We are also able to repair historic work which may have become weathered or damaged.
